    Browning BPS vs Mossberg 500

I'm looking to buy my first long barreled (28") multi purpose shotgun. I would like to learn to shoot trap and or skeet, as well as maybe hunt some birds someday. I've pretty much decided I would like to go the pump shotgun route, because that is what I am familiar with. I currently own 18" barreled Mossbergs and a Winchester 1300.

I'm torn between buying just the basic 28" 500, because it is cheap, and I own a version of one already. Or the browning, because it still isn't expensive, but seems to be a "nicer" gun.

Is there a fundamental difference between the two that I am missing? Is the browning fundamentally a better gun in some way I am not experienced enough to see? (handling, weight, etc?)

At the end of the day - would it even matter for my intended purposes?

The Browning will have better fit and finish. They're also unique in that they bottom-eject through the loading port. As far as weight/handling, I think it should be pretty similar to the Mossberg but I haven't ever shot one.
