Trouble with new Beretta 695 assembly

I just bought a nice looking brand new Beretta 695 20 gauge for my wife (online through GunBroker). Darned if I can't assemble it! I cannot get the extractor lugs to line up with the channels inside the receiver so that when I close the action, the extractors close. It seems to take much more force than I dare to apply.

Anyone in the San Jose area I can show this to? Coyote Creek sporting clays maybe? Thanks for listening! BTW, my name is Ted and I live in Saratoga (near Los Gatos)

Sometimes reading the owners manual can help. There may be some simple thing you are missing.

Thanks guys for replying. Not quite the same. It seems that I have to manually push the ejectors forward to get the lugs to line up with the internal slots. Then I can close the action normally.

But Coles is an authorized Beretta service center, and can do any needed repair in-house.

Just a thought but the 690s have ejectors that are ajustable via a screw to turn them to extractors I believe. Maybe the screw is backed out a bit too far?
