As far as I know this is unobtanium in CA.

I have not heard of a semi-auto version, so it would be a MG. None were made before the "no new MGs" ban, so good luck with that one, unless you are law enforcement or the military.

Even if they were to make a semi-auto version, it's got a removable mag so it would be instant AW status in CA.

It will be *YEARS* before this is available.

the semi " version " was the USAS-12 be it by Daewoo , Gilbert Equipment Co. ( the one I owned ) or ??? Ordnance , They are all Destructive Devices and require a form 4 ( I think , 3 is for mguns , 2 is manufacture , 4 is for D.D. ) registration . It was an AR on steroids , MUCH FUN !!!!!!

There is one transferable out there, It was the personal gun of the guy who designed it, his wife had it for sale a year ago or so. I think the price tag was like 100,000.

This is a completely different gun than the USAS.

The AA-12 originally came out in the mid-1970s.
Maxwell Atchisson began developing the Atchisson Assault 12 (AA-12) in the early-70s.
It was a select-fire 12 gauge shotgun that used 8 round magazines and 20 round drums.
There are a few (less than 5) transferable (pre-86) AA-12 MGs held in the hands of collectors.

In the late-80s, DaeWoo made the USAS-12, which is an improved version of the Atchisson Assault 12. It was select-fire and used 10 round magazines and 20 round drums. In the early-90s, Gilbert Equipment Company imported a semi-auto only version of the USAS-12. A few years later, the BATF ruled that the semi-auto only USAS-12 was a DD and importation was stopped.

In the early-90s, Maxwell Atchisson sold the design to Military Police Systems Inc (MPS Inc.). MPS Inc modernized the Atchisson Assault 12 design resulting in the Auto Assault 12 (AA-12). This is the 3rd generation of the original AA12 and is considered a non-transferable MG.

In order to get a MPS Inc AA-12, you would need to be a Type 01 FFL Class III SOT and have a law enforcement demonstration letter requesting a the AA-12.

they need to build one like the saiga 12

sell it with montecarlo stock and a 3 round magazine with a 30 inch barrel

then people could mod them but the atf only declared the revolver and usas 12 because they came from the factory with pistolgrips and extraordinary capacitys
