Remington v3 vs Stoeger m3000

Looking for some advice from people that have used both. Getting into bird hunting. Mainly upland for now but would like to duck hunt at some point. I have a 11 month old GWP in training. I've handled both the v3 and m3000 and I can't really say one or the other felt that much better than the other. Also I love the traditional wood look but am I better off getting camo if I ever want to duck hunt because of the moisture?

Many people say the V3 is as soft or softer than many 20ga semi autos. I can say my versamax is very soft shooting even with 3.5 shells

I've heard that also. I just want my girlfriend to be able to shoot it also when we shoot clays.

I love my Remington V3 Field Sport 28". It is softer shooting than a Beretta A300. The felt recoil feels like a Beretta A400 Sport with Kickoff (but the A400 cycles faster).

I like the V3, because it is mechanically setup to shoot 2.75" and 3" shells that allows gas to be regulated by the length of the shell and the variable gas chamber. It's an interesting design that allows two places to control the gas.

The down part is cleaning it throughly takes more time. I broke the cam pin on the bolt carrier (warranty). Some people report they get blowback to the face.

Remington Shop does sell barrels and extension tubes if you really wanted to change to home defense.

Overall, I prefer the V3 over other shotguns I've owned: Beretta A300 and JMPro 930.

The v3 was my first choice but then I was turned on to Stoeger by a buddy. He has the m3500 and loves it. The price difference between the v3 and m3000 is about $350. So I guess I'm just trying to justify the extra money. I've shot the Baretta A300 and just wasn't a fan of it.

By "looking" you will not understand anything besides how beautiful it is, you need to shoot it side by side.
I don't know if anyone mentioned V3, but IMO - Buy V3 and never look back. There is no comparison, and yes, spend a little extra on camo if you intend to hunt ducks.
Yes, there were some minor issues with V3 in the first batch, but Remington changed the design of the forend. Now there is no blowback and addressed all other issues.
Try to buy on Gunbroker. You can save 1-2 bills.

Frankly, I liked the old design. I prefer the old expansion chambers.

What BajaJames83 said. I too own a Versamax Competition Tactical, my daughter was 11 years old, weighed about 85 lbs and was trap shooting a couple hours a nyte on Friday’s at our local club. The most difficulty she ever had was ignoring the mosquitoes. The Mossy is a good gun too, but of the two...V3.

I got a screaming deal on a used versamax comp tactical and changed out some parts so now its a long barrel or 19" barrel perfect for HD.
I have shot tons of shotguns and I have to say this is my fav. It is easily the most reliable as well as runs the cleanest.

Remingtons have a tradition of soft shooting. My old 1100 was a *****cat (lol, profanity filter) even with slugs or buckshot and it had a hard plastic buttplate, no recoil pad.

I pulled the trigger on a v3 this morning in Mossy Oak Blades. Looking forward to shooting it and taking it out on my first hunt with my pup. Thanks everyone for the advice.
