Here's a dilemma: Decent shape 59, Win-Lite barrel, VersaLite chokes. The gun came with a full set of chokes, plus whatever is on there now. It might have been on there awhile. My thinking is just pull that barrel and grab a steel barrel from Numrich. Lose the choke system, but at least you can shoot it, I'm pretty sure the Win-Lite won't like steel one little bit. It's a nice handler though, I was hoping my wife could use it for some very casual clays.

So one of the problems with stuck or frozen chokes is the wrench.
What wrench are you using and how?
Here is what has helped me in the past;
Warm the barrel with a hairdryer or heat gun but not crazy hot, just warm. Like too hot to grab and hold but not too hot to touch.
Place the muzzle end of the barrel in a cup of penetrating oil like Kroil overnight.
Now, get yourself a blade type choke wrench like this:

Put the wrench in a bench vise. Now, holding the barrel in your hands, put the choke tube slot into the wrench and turn.
This way, you have more control over the two staying together and can exert more torque.Anyone press will hear the fat lady sing.

This then the hairdryer. Dip the end of the barrel past the choke in the Kroil don't just dribble it on.Comment

Go shoot it and let the barrel get hot. THEN try to loosen the choke. Works all the time with shooters when they're shooting tournaments and/or practicing. I have a 59 and I bought the wrench from GPC for very little. I think I bought it 5-6 years ago. I bought the gun for my wife and she won’t shoot it. Great gun they sell for more on the east coast.Comment
