Anyone been to LA Clays yet?

They opened back up today, the 16th of May.
Wondering if anyone has checked them out yet, especially the sporting clays course.

How many stations? How many machines per station? How are the presentations? Did they really make you wear a mask while on the course?!

    Thank you for any info!

The new card system they have is sweet, 1 card works for every game there, So you put money on a card and it knows what you are shooting and what discounts you get!!

Shot 200 birds on the sporting clays course. Every station was rebuilt with a new wood station including a tin roof. All new machines of course and the targets were hairy.

Only stations 1-20 are open at this moment, but Jun said they will be opening 21-25 very soon. We had an opportunity to speak to Kimberly Rhode and she said they have a lot of work ahead of them, but she is very optimistic how things will turn out. She told us the skeet fields are NOW officially legal for competition. Apparently they weren't before.

Overall it was really nice and I had a chance to peak into the lunch area which is completely brand new. Betsy has put a lot of work into that place so far. I asked her if Oak Tree memberships would transfer and she said unfortunately not. Basically because she is required to share a percentage with the county of her profits and it would be too complicated to mix both venues at this time.

She did say she was looking into this for the future, but for now they are completely independent from each other. We didn't shoot skeet, but the cool thing is, you only need ONE card for every game you play. It's all counted by money. So if you shoot sporting clays as a member, it basically cost .32 cents per target. But if you put your card in at the skeet/trap field it will deduct 25 targets at the price you signed up for either as a member or nonmember. Unlike before with the different keys which IMO is a big advantage now.

FYI Jun is full time there. He seems very happy and is excited to get back to tournaments when they get the okay from the county.

                  Again a great day.

If you get a chance, shoot a round of International /Olympic Skeet. There are very few International Skeet fields to be found so take advantage. You get a feel of the skill level needed to shoot the course with the speed of the targets and International rules

Did someone take pictures of new facility? I'd love to see the improvement.
