Too late bought it already. It was that or the V3 which is not in stock anywhere. The 940 has a lot of great features plus it comes with 3 Briley chokes. I do like the V3 gas system better being the copied it from Benelli

The jm pro was dubbed the jam pro in the competiton world. I have several friends that fell victim to the enticing price.

original 930 ran great when clean, but had to be cleaned very often.

new piston system on the 940 changes this completely (or so they claim), so i don't think we should judge the 940 based in the 930 until we see them run in real life. early reviews from shooters with experience with the 930 are good.

My 930 JM Pro had feeding issues out of the box and I had to deburr the shell stop. I also installed OR3gun parts as a preventive measure. It then ran 400 Walmart Federal shells without any hiccups before the next cleaning which wasn't actually needed. Since then, I've more than 600 shells through it and haven't cleaned it, yet.

I have to believe the lessons learned with the 930 and the aftermarket, like OR3gun, has benefitted the 940 and it won't have the little issues out of the box that the 930 did.

Its issues like that out of the box that really make the versamax and V3 shine

So this sounds that the 930 JM Pro was marketed quite prematurely to the gullible, that it is susceptible to having issues, but now the 940 which is significantly more expensive is supposed to solve all these issues. Guess the prudent thing to do is wait up a little before buying the 940, see what might crop up before sinking money into it.

Not really. OR3GUN figured out A fix for the gas system carbon build up issues that required regular after shooting maintenance and made parts for it. Mossberg just copied OR3GUNs products primarily the gas spaceR tube, then went for the farm copying the bolt release and the forearm retainer.

                      UPDATE

Picked up today after being delayed to day 12. Initial impression is it's A LOT nicer than their other guns. Fit & finish is really good compared to their 500,590, & 930 guns. There is minor play at the trigger housing where it goes into the receiver. Loading was EASY. It's not very heavy Factory length of pull is set at 13.75 inches despite what it says in the owner's manual. If you guys have any questions feel free to ask.

How is the forend fitting, is there slop? I asked because that is what annoyed me with my 930, I had to buy the forend retainer from OR3gun. The after market retainer minimized but not totally eliminated the slop.

No slop on the fore end at all, no up & down or forward & aft movement. Actually fits very tight going back together and you can hear an audible snap once fully seated

Loading 2 was easy? How about 4's?

How was function with light loads, like 7 1/2's or 8's?

How was recoil with heavy loads?

Loading two was easy. I haven't attempted quads. Haven't shot it yet but I have #8 and 00 buck to test with.
