    Rifle sights on my 870

I have an 18" 870 with the standard point sight on the end of the barrel. I would really like a nice set of ghost ring or as least a nice set of rifle sights on it, but whats really involved in installing those on a gun not tapped for a rear sight? Is it something I could potentially do myself or does a gunsmith need to install this for me?

Also for you 870 types, whats a good set of sights I should look into?

I don't want to turn you against something you want, but maybe you could first shoot a shotgun with sights. Some report that having rifle-type sights on a shotgun with a standard stock throws off their aim terribly because of bad cheek weld and so forth.

I've never shot a rifle sighted shotgun, I have shouldered a few Mossbergs and a FN TPS with ghost ring sights and they both seemed pretty natural. Its uncomfortable for me to use the single post sight thats on my gun now because it seems to set too low down on the barrel. An elevated sight set seems like it would be more comfortable for me personally.
