    PW87 Bootleg conversion!

I have used my quarantine time to chop off and refinish the stock on my chinese PW87 shotgun. Yes I know its completely useless other than having fun, but that is the whole point. After sanding off the original super dark finish i found that the forearm wood appears to be a different type of wood on either side and the grip looks like a laminate. I sanded the wood up to 400 grit and then started applying coats of tru oil and sanding in between coats up to 600 grit then I applied a couple finish coats with no wet sanding. I'm not a wood worker by any sense of the word but I think it came out pretty decent. I still might sand the gloss out for a more satin finish but we'll see.

Oh man, that looks GOOD! But how does it run?

I could talk myself into one of those, just for kicks and bruises.

I like it. Some folks are not fans of the PG-only shotguns but I like it.

        Hahaha awesome.

Mine shoots pretty well after cleaning up a couple rough edges. Well worth the 300 bucks in fun had. I want to use it to kill ducks this year and piss off the people with 2k dollar guns and fancy camo, and I've used it to shoot trap before just to hear the people with Kreighoffs talking sheet but not having much better scores.

Just an update, the shotgun runs great. I tore the action down, slicked everything up, and oiled it real good. I haven't had any feeding issues and it will not jam even when loading seven shells. Its most comfortable shot from the hip with recoil being minimal with target loads. Its pretty fun to take skeet shooting too.
