Just purely out of curiosity, what kind of fitting was needed? I don't have an M4 or a Versa Max, but I've heard they are extremely similar.

Yes both rifles are very similar in design - I haven’t shot them side by side so can’t give a function comparison. Removing the sling attachment for the Benelli requires a heat gun due to the thread lock. Some fitting is required in order to smoothly mount the stock to the Versa receiver. Slide on the Benelli stock, measure - mark up material that needs to be removed and with a dremel go slow. Take your time removing a bit at a time, re-fitting and so forth.

I took photos of the process if people are interested in a write up. I believe the M2, M3 and M4 stock will work. I had a M4 stock available and went with that.

          I like.

A write up,especially with pics, would be appreciated.

          Why remove the sling attachment?

Sorry... the sling attachment needed to be removed for the install then replaced for the final install... it’s still there

              Not bad.
Personally I prefer traditional stocks but i do love my versamax competition tactical. I have like 6 barrels for mine.
I didnt like the 22" barrel so I had one cut and threaded at 19" its perfect now.
Still shoot more trap and 5 stand with the 28" but it wears the 19

Mesa tactical urbino stock is nicer shorter pull lenght And they make a versa stock. Soo? Why?

The urbino is really solid but short. The Benelli stock is cheap if found used and has a longer length of pull. If anyone is looking for a Benelli stock I have one I’m willing to part with for a very reasonable price.

I passed on the Urbino stock because it felt too short for me, plus I got an awesome deal from another member for the Benelli stock.
