You don't remove the "bottom shell tube".

Push the fore-end forward so that the bolt is closed.

Reach in through the loading port and hold down the LEFT shell latch.

Slide the fore-end forward, and the bolt/slide should come out of the receiver.

The fore-end can be removed from the assembly by removing the fore-end nut. A special fore-end wrench works best.

Is that a speedfeed forend? Even if it isn't post a pic of your assembled shotgun, I wanna see how it came out bro.

I'm not sure (??) It comes off a new (well one month old) 870.. it just says Remington onthe inside of the fore-grip

              where would I look ??

Nah, speedfeed is a different company, I was just curious because they looked similar.

Travesty! You mixed your 870 with all those Fenders. Get a Les Paul STAT!
For those who fight for it, Freedom has a flavor the Protected will never know.

+1 for your Fenders. Fender is a great guitar!

+1 for your 870. That's the same forend I have on mine and I really like it. No need to chop it down for your receiver mount shell holders like the one you took off. Now you just need a sweet tactical stock. If you're interested, I'm a fan of the Knoxx (Blackhawk now) SpecOps Stock.
