Below is just a wild guess....
(I think if you focused on the other stamped markings across from the initials J C H look them up on the internet that might tell you the country, if it was proof housed/tested at a certain location or maker's mark.
" J.C. HENRY ST PAUL then the gun is indeed a "Trade Brand Name" shotgun made by Crescent Fire Arms Co of Norwich,CT (1892 to 1931) for and was sold by the H & D Folsom Company of New York City who incidently owned Crescent Fire Arms Company...." -
I am guessing J C Higgins double barrel shotgun.
*I must be wrong as JC Higgins didn't make an exposed double barrel shotgun.
never mind - in an Emily Litella voice.
It does look a lot like this American Gun Co. shotgun.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Trying to see if this is worth restoring and find the missing barrel front portion.Comment

Well if you can find out what the make is by looking at the proof marks and looking up firearm proof marks on the web then you could try to call around to some big gun part wholesalers like "Gun parts corp , formerly known as Numrich Firearms parts or
Jack First gun parts
Shopify provides a reliable Ecommerce platform so you focus on selling online! Integrated hosting, shopping cart and Ecommerce payment solution all in one!
I think Jack First is the smaller of the two but has a lot of shotgun barrels and even makes machines their own obsolete parts for the more common older firearms.
You may get a more friendly experience with them and although they suggest you buy their catalog before ordering, or at least they used to, I think maybe if you called them and knew what you were looking for they could tell you if they had it.
They started in California but like a lot of businesses here, they had to move.Comment

Pictures are too small and blurry to tell you much. But that is a firearm, and legally you need to treat it as such.Last edited by SkyHawk; 03-22-2020, 12:12 PM.Comment

possibly J.C. Higgins Model 101.7, a break-action double-barrel shotgun made by Stevens a division of Savage, a duplicate of the Model 311.Comment
