I decided to skip it, too much for some gold trim. My 930 plus OR3gun parts is the same gun. I'd rather use that grand towards an A400 or SB3

+1 on this gun being highly overpriced IMO, minus 1 on Or3gun part, all of those "upgrades" can be done for free in less than an hour.

Opening up the loading port properly take some artistic talent. I don't have it and a gunsmith would probably charge a chunk of coin to do it.

I guess I wasn't really concerned with that "upgrade" since I'm not a quad load guy. To each his own, if that your thing maybe it's worth it to you. I just wanted the new piston and follower however I still have never had a jam or a failure on my current 930jm.

The main point of the gun is 3-gun. Why else would they have Jerry Miculek endorse it?

I was going to but literally nobody has it. I couldn't find any hard info on a release date. Is Mossberg even shipping them, or was it a "coming soon?" I couldn't find anything stating either "shipping now" or "coming soon" but have seen a whole lot of "introducing the new 940."

I remember back in 2018 at the SEMA trade show, Edelbrock had a "coming soon" sign on their Jeep for their supercharger kits. We're comfortably into 2020 now, still isn't out yet, lol. Edelbrock's website still shows "coming soon." Does SHOT Show have the same thing as "SEMA rush at their trade show?

I saw them on sale online for $800 a few days ago.

I'm surprised nobody complained that I didn't provide a link. I was just stalling so I could find it again. This one is even the black multicam so those of you that are stylish won't be put off by the gold anodized parts. $791.42, which seems like a really good price for a race-ready gun.

Same reason vickers tactical endorses Glocks, to sell more guns. Do you really think everyone who buys the 930 JM is going to shoot 3 gun with it? I bet less than 5% of 930 JM owners have ever even shot 3gun.

That color combo looks great, I love black multicam! That price is really good too, for that price it might be worth it to upgrade.

I hope you win lots of matches with your 940 sir.

I wasn't arguing, I was agreeing with the OP. I am only saying that the price point for me, isn't worth it. I purchased the 930 JM pro for desert shooting with a large magazine and can take a beating. So FAr it has done it's job... I have easily more than 20k rounds through it and have never had an issue with mine. I did some of the OR3 gun upgrades, and according the articles I read the 940 upgrades are exact clones of those parts. the only difference really is the enlarged loading port.

Like I stated, to each his own especially if you want to shoot 3 gun with it. I hope you guys all win lots of medals, I truly do. I will also agree that an entry level gun for 3 gun at that price point is certainly a deal, especially now that OP has shown a version without all the gold accents. the original gold accent gun looks its trying to be a poormans Salient M4, which is fine.. just not a personal look I like.

In regards to reliability, I would have to saldy disagree. I love my 930 JM pro but the nickname of the gun is Jam Pro and there are many many threads to the this effect. one of the other reason I have decided to stick with my current gun. it's kind of a hit and miss scenario on the JM's. I am hoping the 940 fixed a lot of those issues but only time will tell.

Lastly comparing a Glock to a Nighthawk is like comparing a Riced out civic to a Porsche, they aren't even in the same league. What we are talking about is a 930 JM pro to a 940, which is basically the same gun with some newer improvements.

Tough crowd in here, everyone trying to justify their expense.... It's your money and your gun, do what ever you want with it. make it a $1k door stop for all I care.

I really like this new 940, sorry if I gave the wrong impression, the black multicam is a great look too, Perhaps when the hype dies down I will pick one up, after the quality control is sorted out and price goes down. for now I will stick with my current rig and enjoy it. looking forward to reports of the 940 kicking a** and making a name for Mossberg!

Was more referring to the comparison to A400 or SB3 to the 940 made earlier. As for reliability I meant the 940, not the 930. I should have put a "yet" in there to make it clear, that's my mistake. Have to agree the 940 multi-cam looks good.

The odds are, mossberg will overproduce this model

Once the first wave of purchases is done... well ... 3 gun is a small market

And it is a long stock- so it won’t fit everyone.
