questions about loads for wingshooting and practice

CA now has no-tox shot laws for each and every feathered critter on the wing I just found out today by doing a little Google work.
So, this complicates things for dove hunters, duck hunters and pheasant hunters alike, novice and veteran.

Should we be using the same no-tox loads for target practice at the skeet field as we would use afield? Of course, we should always pattern our guns with whatever load we plan to tote in the field.

Let's say one has a 20-ga. Benelli Nova for the uplands and dove season is a month away.

For this gun, what should we be using at the skeet field for dove practice in terms of:

    -load?
    -choke?

If we plan to use the proper steel dove load and choke at the dove stand for such as by Kent?

The other bothersome thing is having to change between choke tubes frequently if we were to target practice with lead and hunt with no-tox loads.

I've been told that recoil is worse with steel for the higher velocities required
so our gun is going to maybe feel different between sessions of shooting steel and sessions of shooting with lead.

Nobody practices with steel. It's too expensive. Screw in an IC choke and you'll be fine.

He's not going to be practicing with nothing since old Donny Blabbett is a Prohibited Person who can't own or handle Firearms...

There is one way to find out. Pattern them. Typically the steel will pattern a little tighter. I use #7 in steel vs 71/2 or #8s in lead.

Waterfowl has been no-lead for a long time. I've been hunting ducks for 16 years; it was no-lead long before that.

Find or load something with similar velocities, practice as you normally would.

Hunting and shooting used to be so much fun and so simple before Communistic laws came in to spoil all the fun.

Do guys who shoot doves now have to have a PhD in metallurgy?

Now when I hunt I use a magnet to check ammo not in factory boxes. Quick easy check.

Shooting is still lots of fun even with the bu***hit we have to put up with.

I buy dove/rabbit win experts steel for less than $6 at Walmart or rogers. Works very well.
