    1100 vs. A303 vs. SA 20

I'm considering a 20 g semi-auto purchase for general use and looking at a Remington 1100 , Beretta A303, and a Mossberg SA 20. What are your experiences with any or all? Thanks!

I have no experience with 20g but in 12g my A300 beats the 1100 and SA if that helps.

You found a Beretta 303? If I good condition I’d take it over the other two, although the 1100 is a damn nice shotgun.

He said it was a 303. Not necessarily the same as an A300.

If you have a chance at a 303 beretta, grab it. I own an 1100 20 gauge fixed barrel modified and an SA-20. An old 1100 is a great shotgun to have, especially a 20 gauge. You can get parts everywhere for them.

I have a Rem 1100 Skeet-B 20ga made in 70s. I used to use it for NSSA shoots before switching to Citori 20ga. Awesome gun.

Buy a Beretta 391. Be happy.

They're getting awfully expensive these days.

Of those, I'd vote for the 1100. Even better would be an 1100 LT20. Another option is a Win SX3. New ones are getting scarce, but can be found. I own 1100, 1100 LT20, SX3, and the SX3 is the one I grab for hunting. Two of my hunting buddies own several Beretta gas semis of various models, and they handle like a pig on the end of a shovel, with cycling problems as an added bonus. These are hunting guns and get used hard, but our SX3s (five of them in our group) have been flawless.

I've shot 1100, early Winchester SX, and SA20. Have not had a chance to try the A303.

I went with 1100; love it for clays. I really like the Winchester too though; it was really smooth shooting. I was in the used market at the time; I just happened to find a deal on a 1100 first...

I switch off barrels now and then. Mine is 110 Skeet, with 26" fixed skeet choke. I also have a 30" barrel with screw in chokes. I like that for sporting clays.

I picked up a Tristar 20 gauge semi-auto for my wife. It is a little gem. Plus it comes with stock shims to help fit it to her body.

Buying it for general use implies you may keep it long term which IMO you would benefit getting something that is considered a classic like an 1100 or 303, 390, 391 series. In most cases you won't lose money selling any of them years down the road. The SA-20 while a very nice NEW gun hasn't, got the track record yet.
