    Stoeger/Benelli Chokes

I have a new Stoeger M3000 shotgun. I see choke tubes listed for Benelli shotguns but not Stoeger. Are they interchangeable?
The gun comes with a turkey choke. I plan to use it for turkeys. Is the turkey choke suggested for the Fed HeavyWeight TSS 3" #9 shot shells?

I have not used a shotgun for many years so I am not up to speed with the newer Non-Lead shells and compatible choke tubes.

Carlson's website has them listed as Beretta/ Benelli mobile style threads, And they have whatever choke you need.

I can't answer your 2nd question, I wouldn't know anything about turkey chokes, Wait for an answer here or call Carlson's to see.

          Here are my ruminations....

I thought that most guys using lead to hunt turkey use #5 (I know you can't use lead in California).

          A #5 lead pellet weighs 2.57 grains

A #9 TSS pellet will have less than half the weight of a lead #5 pellet.
A #9 lead pellet weighs .75 grains. If you increase it by 56% (TSS claimed increase in density over lead), a TSS #9 pellet weighs 1.17 grains (.75 x 1.56 = 1.17).

If you want the TSS pellet weight to be the same as a lead #5 (2.57 grains), I would use #7 TSS. It should weigh 2.53 grains (.03 grains less than #5 lead).

Carlson's makes TSS specific choke tubes.

          YMMV
Take all this with a grain of salt, as I've never hunted turkey.

I don't know much about TSS, but chasing weight per pellet isn't valid. Less frontal area they don't slow as quickly, they penetrate deeper. With the small size pattern density is greatly improved. I've read of many using 1/2oz #9 on ducks even at extended range.
