My primary pheasant piece the last few years is a BL2. Same gun except extractors I believe. Originally choked M/F which with modern ammo was more like F/XF. Sent it to Briley for screw-ins. Kinda pricey, but the thin barrels dictated that Briley was the only game in town.

A bit light for a target gun so I'd keep the loads light and limit the number of rounds.

I've had the forearm try to dislodge on stiff loads a couple times. Haven't needed any parts.

Not looking at the gun at the moment but I recall it was right on the side of the barrel near the chamber. An "F" over an "M". No * coding on the water table like Browning does.

You won't see any "steps" per se'. Typically a dime won't fit in the muzzle of a full choke 12g.

Might keep an eye out for 7/8 or 1oz loads for targets. 1-1/8 is "standard". The gun doesn't care, but her shoulder might if shooting much volume. At game you're not shooting enough to be of much concern.

So you were pretty much right on the money...down at the receiver end, F over M but marked on the left side. I didn’t check the bore sizes with anything other than an eyeball but they look pretty much the same.

Good gun fit is key, with a shotgun. Woman’s necks & cheek bones are usually a little different, and her pectoral area is most likely different than the average American male.
