    Benelli m1 stock removal?

    Anybody have instructions/directions on how?

I can't find the pdf download from the benelli site, and the instruction manual I bought off eBay seems to have skipped over that section.

Any help or pointers are welcome. Thanks!

There are two screws holding the rubber butt to the stock. You'll see two very small "dimples" at either end of the rubber butt. Shove a medium phillips head through those holes and undo the screws. Dont remember from there, but yeah....had the same issue

Remove the rubber butt pad (2 screws hidden by the pin holes- philips I think), and there's a large nut or bolt inside holding the stock on. I think it uses a big flathead screwdriver bit if I remember right.

Mine had a bolt or a nut. I recall using a socket wrench with an extension (not too long) to remove it.

It's either a 10mm or 13mm nut, a 10" extension works fine, depending on the stock. Takes all of a minute to remove the screws and stock, just did it to add a GGG sing point sling mount on my M1S90.

Don't over-tighten and use a nylock nut if possible.

I got a non-pistol grip stock - I want to consolidate down to one shotgun and I never much liked the pistol grip anyways.

Also - is it normal for there to be a slight gap between the stock and the rear part of the receiver? I don't think I'm doing anything wrong, but there's a little 1/64" gap or so.

Did you remove the factory pistol grip stock from the M1S90?

If so, do you want to sell it?

BTW, yes, there is a "slight" gap between the stock and receiver on my M1S90

Stock removal is easy. Don't even think of changing the recoil spring unless you have a heat gun....

None of mine have any gap between the stock and the receiver. If you are using a sporting stock then you need the shim kit.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

I'm leaning towards keeping it. Just out of curiosity, why do you want the pistol grip? I think the shotgun points a lot better with the sporting stock. I'm just keeping the pistol grip for completeness.

I have a mossy 590A1 with the pistol grip and I'm used to how it points. To me, the factory stock is un-natural.

                            I hear you corbin dallas.

I'm just used to the straight stock. I don't think I'm sacrificing much, but it's a lot more public friendly.

i have a Remington 11-87 i had to buy a new fore grip for because the wood one cracked the replacement that was "suppose" to a bolt on for that gun had a very small gap i had to take a sharp chisel and remove some material for it to fit correctly.
*edit* the replacement came with both stock and fore grip to i changed both.
