    Has anyone tried to 3D print a stock or forend?

    I would like to make some stocks and forends for the Remington 870 in different colors/patterns.

    Has anyone tried to make accessories with a 3D printer?

    It's tricky because of the size of the parts.

    A large ABS printer is prone to a lot of curling and deforming during the print process, and a large PLA print can deform when exposed to temperatures over 120 degrees, which a handguard might experience. PLA is also pretty brittle. The file can be broken into smaller bits, but in the time it takes to print them, reprint the broken ones, and glue them together you could get a premade in LTL Orange.

    It's an interesting idea for a short or medium term solution with light duty. It also can be useful if you want to try casting a copy off the print.

    I have a 3d printed Magpul Backfin, and it works as a stopgap, but I'd not trust dropping it like I would an injection molded part.

        If you don’t have large print 3D printer, It will be costly for the stock. Because the stock size, you will need large print 3D printer, which costly couple thousand.
