    Another dumb question

Why are some Modified/Full chokes sell for $20, while the Trulock or Carlsons Modified/Full chokes sell for $80?

Ask bobga or bob day they are the resident experts or Randall seems to have the answers. (I know he stayed at a Holiday Inn once)

Most 20 dollar or cheaper chokes are flush mount chokes that sit flush with the barrel, when you get into extended chokes they are more money, but you can find really good chokes for cheap you just have to know where, My Carlson tubes I got off ebay for 40.00.

I'm not really the expert, but I probably know just enough to be dangerous...

As far as the OPs question goes, the more expensive chokes are probably:
            1) made with better material
            2) use more material (extended vs. flush mount)
            3) require more machining (extended with knurling and/or porting)
            4) have better QC
            5) have a better brand reputation and/or marketing
            6) easier to use (change out) and identify

If you are going to shoot with others, don't buy ported chokes. They are louder and most shooters don't care for them.

Some day, I'll probably fall prey to Muller Choke's marketing. https://mullerchokes.com/

I recently purchased the Beretta A300 outlander Sporting model. It has
              extended chokes

if it uses the Beretta / Benelli extended choke tubes ( which is most likely ) I have all the Carlson ones for 12 gauge, and be found for about 35 bucs on ebay.

Before spending $ on new chokes, pattern your gun & chokes with some different shells. You may find a good combo. I misplaced my stock A300 chokes, other than the Mod (which was in the gun). It patterns well with Most shells. I replaced the rest with Briley’s, and added a Carlson’s Turkey

Briley, Carlson, and it goes back to the gun makers after that.

Briley's are the most expensive. My .410 Citori Sporting Clays Edition came with a complete set.

My Citori XT has a full set of Carlson's. I prefer Carlson's because they were made on CNC Lathes I built for them.
