    870 Detachable Magazine Laws

Is it legal to have a pistol grip stock with this since it has a detachable magazine? How about a vertical fore grip? How about both? How about only a pistol grip and no stock? I cant seem to find anything regarding this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    (6) A semiautomatic shotgun that has both of the following:

    (A) A folding or telescoping stock.

    (B) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, thumbhole stock, or vertical handgrip.

    (7) A semiautomatic shotgun that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine.

    (8) Any shotgun with a revolving cylinder.

Thank you! I have also looked this up but the pump shotgun doesnt fall into any of these categories

It is not semi-automatic so you can go wild with magazines if there is such a thing.

You can even have bayonet lugs, threaded barrels and shoulder-things-that-go-up!

OP, you must be thinking about something like this:

As stated above, a pump version like this (non-semi-auto) will be fine. The magazine on this one is only 6 rds so no issues there either.

Under CA laws/regulations, the only restrictions for pump-action shotguns are:
              1. Minimum barrel length of 18".
              2. Minimum overall length of 26" with the overall length is measured with the firearm in the shortest possible firing configuration (e.g. stock folded/collapsed).
              3. Ammunition feeding device must comply with CA large capacity magazine laws.

Thank you Quiet!!! Are there any federal laws we need to be aware of?

                      Not really.
If you comply with the CA minimum restrictions, then you will also be in compliance with the Federal laws.
