They're supposed to be a lot easier to control than the pump "firearms".

Are they not allowed in CA as they come out of the box from Remington?

Cured with a coat of Cerakote.

The Remington TAC-14DM is a Title 1 Other, but CA considers it to be a SBS due to it's 14" barrel [PC 17180(a)].

If it was made into a Title 2 AOW, then it would be CA legal. [PC 17710(a)]

A method to legally get it in CA...
      1. While out-of-state, TAC-14DM has it's 14" barrel replaced with a 18" barrel.
      2. It is then shipped to a CA FFL dealer and transferred (4473 = Title 1 Other / DROS = long gun, shotgun).
      3. After it is transferred, submit a Form 1 to make a Title 2 AOW to BATFE.
      4. After BATFE approves the Form 1, replace the 18" barrel with the 14" barrel and engrave your info on it.
      5. Enjoy CA legal short barrel (14") pump-action "shotgun" that uses detachable magazines.
