    Knoxx Spec-Ops stock issue

Okay, today I put my Knoxx stock on my 870, but there's still a small gap between the stock and receiver. It says to remove the little plate between the stock and receiver if there's a gap, but there's no plate to remove.

Any ideas? I don't want something to happen to my shotgun.

    You're done.
The spacer plate is specific to one brand only (Winchester? not sure which), the others don't have it.
If you bought the stock for the brand you own, there's nothing to worry about. I remember reading about this from the manufacturer.

Enough to fit a credit card in.

I don't think that's normal. Any stock I've seen on an 870 fits right up against the receiver.

                That's what I figured.

On my 500 I need to use pliers to tighten it so there is no gap, it was about the same width, credit card, when I couldn't tighten it by hand.

Damn... I'm a bit worried that I'll strip the receiver nut.

From the manual (debug info included):

I had a ton of debris in my reciever nut BP88, I had to tighten with a wrench it was so tough. I thought there was something wrong myself.
