    870 "Express"

What's the difference with the "Express" vs regular?

The Express has slightly less quality control compared to the police and marine magnum. I am speaking of the HD shotguns in this case. I know there has been issues with the barrels needing to be sanded down on the inside with the express HD model.

          Huh?

          It's an 870, you're gonna be fine.

I actually had to sand down the chamber of my marine magnum, ever so slightly, but it made a big difference. No more "stuck shells".

Does the 870 Express come with a removable choke? I think it came with an improved choke? Can't remember.

Here's a breakdown of differences between an Express and a Wingmaster, as written by dfariswheel on THR:

The last time I checked the Express had:
A rougher finish inside and out. More burrs.
                  A rough black finish.
A hard wood or synthetic stock.
                  Cheaper, impressed checkering.
                  A black bolt.
                  A plastic trigger group.
                  "Possible" a two piece barrel.
The new style magazine assembly with plastic parts.
A rougher bore in the barrel.
Uses some MIM, (moulded steel parts) in critical areas, like the extractor.

                  The Wingmaster had:
A much smoother finish inside and out. No burrs.
                  A polished blue finish.
Walnut or synthetic stocks with choice of gloss or satin finish.
                  Better quality checkering.
                  A chrome plated bolt.
                  An aluminum trigger group.
                  A one piece barrel.
The old style steel magazine assembly.
                  A much smoother bore.
No MIM parts are used in any critical area.

Bottom line: If you want a better quality, better looking gun, buy the Wingmaster.
If price is your big concern, buy the Express.

my Express only came with one choke. when i got it (walmart special) there was a little "upgrade package" available that had a three different chokes a wrench, oil and some cleaning supplies in it. i think it was 30 bucks.
-Guide: "if your gonna try and shoot a bear with that thing you better file down the front sight."
-Hunter: "why, so i get a quicker draw from my holster?"
-Guide: "no, so it will hurt a little less when the bear takes it from you and shoves it up your *****!"
