    Teaching a blind youth shooter

I do the trap station during the Jake's event at the Escondido Fish and Game Association.

We have a blind 13yr old who shows up every year and we try to set him up to break a clay but no love yet!

Is there a clay that makes some sound he can track?

IDK the rules, but there are a frisbees that make a whistling noise.

    Edit:
The one review is terrible, but there might be something out there.
    Maybe a cheap drone?

I can envision a shooting station where targets pop up on the ground and make a sound that a blind person could shoot at - and that sounds like fun. But finding a way for a blind person to shoot at flying targets, that's a tough one.

Is he completely blind, or does he have partial vision?

Do you have to use the commercial trap thrower? If you used one of the inexpensive thrower, with the tension turned down on the spring it may make slower target that would be more manageable.

Or try Station-7 low house on the skeet range. Throwing single I think that is easier than most trap houses.

Don't know if this will work, but how about electronic ear muffs with a line in. The line in, should be plugged to one of those long range directional microphone thingie.

There are tennis balls for the visually impaired. They are made with rattles or bells inside so they make a noise while in motion. They are about $10 for a sleeve of 3 (or you can prolly make your own)

Use a dog toy ball chucker to launch them, ought to be able to hear them while wearing electronic muffs.
