    12G. Barrel Service Life

I have a Winchester 12G 1300 Coastal Marine (Stainless Steel). I understand these are now out of production. Question: What is the service life of the barrel. I know rifled barrels eventually go away and loose accuracy. But what about smooth bore shotguns? Seems they would last much longer. Any long usage shotgun owners with 20-30 years experience under their belts?

    Many thanks!

    Barrel life

I have a Pre-Model 11 Remington (Ca. 1908) that has been in my family for 30+ years. I have put countless shells thru it and it saw lot's more before it happened my way. Bottom line is, take care of the bore with regular cleaning and oiling and any of the barrels will outlast you and your kids.

Steel shot will burn up older barrels, but if you use modern guns designed for that ammo you will get the same longevity out of them.

    Pull!!!!!
