    NEW MOSSBERG BREACHER COMING IN..

I ordered a mossberg breacher (18.5)..and I want to know what is a good case for this shotgun. I will be storing it and bringing it back and forth from the range. Any suggestions?

I don't believe the issue is a legal one in terms of an unloaded shotgun. But I'm a very private person and I personally would only transport it like that in non-social settings. The last thing I need is some scared person calling the cops about a man with a weapon. Basically, I wouldn't transport a firearm in something that screams "There's a firearm in this case."

But hey, that's just me. Just my two cents here.

As for an actual recommendation, I don't have any particular brand favorites. When I pick up a case I go to a sporting goods or gun store and look for something in the right shape and size. If it has cloth I check the stitching for quality and see what fabric it's comprised of. If polymer materials, the quality is more apparent in that you want something thick that doesn't feel cheap. You want to look for decent padding, be it foam or otherwise--especially if the weapon has any kind of optics or other delicate accessories attached. If so, you might also think about a hard case as opposed to a soft case.

If everything checks out to me and my needs and it's less than 35 maybe 40 bucks, I will make a purchase.

Now if any gun case enthusiasts are reading this in horror, feel free to educate me. I am not being adamant or arrogant, it's only an opinion and probably an uninformed one.
