    Stock question for trap shooting

I'm setting up an old field model Remington 1100 for trap shooting. It's not a parallel comb and the butt is square to the comb and slightly convex curved. I'm installing a recoil pad so I'll be cutting the butt to get the proper LOP.

Should I make the cut square with the comb (like it is currently) or should I make it square with the bore? I hope this makes sense...

If your 1100 is vent ribbed I'd suggest not even messing with the field stock and start shopping for a trap. You want to be able to see the entire top of the rib in your sight picture, and your mental POI shot string image. The drop of the heel is way to low to break clays consistently....
