Suggestions for a new o/u?

Budget is up too $2k. Twenty gauge, 26” barrels and multi-choke. Leaning towards a Beretta 686 silver pigeon, but open for suggestions. Strictly a field gun, so weight is fairly important. Prefer new, but would consider used.

The new Weatherby Orion is an outstanding gun for the price. Beautifully and well made, steel receiver, and good weight for field carry.

Just know they have both field guns and sporting versions. So pay attention there.

For 1000 you can get a Weatherby Orion with a 26 inch barrel, I have one and love it. It’s a little stiff, but it has mechanical triggers and ejectors. I’d feel better about dropping it while hunting than a 2000 dollar o/u.

CZ sells Huglu's O/U made in Turkey under their brand for a lot less $$$. They come with manual safety, mechanical trigger, 5 chokes (F,IM,M,IC,C), 1yr warranty for wood & surface treatment, and 5yr warranty for anything else. I own CZ Drake 12ga and I think their guns are good value for the money.

Whatever gun you decide on, get a 28” barrel. 26” is too short, it’s a fallacy that they are quicker to the target.

I was atL GS yesterday and the cz's looked nice. I sold a Mossberg international o/u. FYI I have a couple Belgium superposed browning o/u"s 12 and 20 gauge.Everything else under 1500 bucks is in second place.

I have 3 cz's and have never had a problem with them, with at least 15,000 rounds in a canvasback.
