Benelli M2 question

I don't think you will be able to get 100% of the play out of that combo. Those nuts just aren't designed for it. The threading is too coarse. I'd try to make a washer out of leather or gasket material, but even if it is initially solid it's going to loosen over time. Maybe try to find a thin copper washer or tweek or peen the light bracket.
I put one of the Briley M Lok handguards on my M1. It has that slight movement in it if I twist it and try to make it move. It's somewhat annoying but inconsequential.Originally Posted by OCEquestrian View Post
Excellent! I am thinking about it as well and I only have 4 points and an unfortunate "match bump" up to expert classification where I am far less "competitive" with my peers there.Comment

You seem to have a lot going on there. Light mount, sling mount and what looks like some spacers? Maybe try removing the spacers, or even try removing the sling mount to make sure the problem isn’t the fact that you have too much stuff between the forend and the mag cap.
And how are you “hand tightening” the cap? If you hold the stock between your legs and the cap between your palms, you can get a lot more torque than just using your hands, but without damaging anything.
Here’s a video explaining how to tighten the cap. Long video but fast forward to 20:10 for the explanation.

When you install everything, is the ball detent on the GG&G mount directly contacted by the scalloped edge on the benelli cap? So you hear and/or feel some clicking as you tighten it down?
If not, you might need to back the extension tube out of the cap. Tighten the cap down first and then thread the extension into the cap.Last edited by boopiejones; 03-24-2019, 9:01 AM.my Benitez goes to 11Comment

I think this particular light mount the rail can point forward or backwards and be mounted on either side of the gun. So the detent ball is visible on both sides and the cupped sections on the bracket go against the barrel to stop it from spinning on the mag tube.my Benitez goes to 11Comment
