NV resident, coming to CA questions.

I know I know use the search function. Will I did and there are many of thousands of pages with the words "Saiga 12" in them!

    I just a a few quick questions.

I'm going to the Reno show this weekend and want to pick up a saiga 12.
I know I live in a free state, but I have family in CA and I like to go hunting with my uncle in Mendocino.

    1) Is the RAA Iz's the only current model OLL for Saiga 12's? (The only banned one being Kalashnikov as listed in Kasler?)
    2) When shopping this weekend Do I only need to make sure I don't buy anything on the RR and Kasler lists? Or did Kesler replace RR...or is there a updated list? Harrot?
    3) How much you guys think the price range will be for non converted?

When shopping for shot guns do I need to only pay attention of PC12276.1(a)(6) A semiautomatic shotgun that has both of the following:
    (A) A folding or telescoping stock.
    (B) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, thumbhole stock, or vertical handgrip.
    (7) A semiautomatic shotgun that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine. (8) Any shotgun with a revolving cylinder.

Sorry guys. I try to come here and read up as much as I can. But haven't had the time lately.

Bring your 870 and don't worry about it.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

RAAC is currently the only USA importer of the Izmash Saiga-12. It is considered off-list.
Expect to pay around $600 for a stock Saiga-12.

If you want to bring the Saiga-12 into CA, you will need to...
... attach a magazine lock to the Saiga-12.
... make sure it does not have a pistol grip and a folding/collapsable stock.
... do not bring any magazines with a capacity greater than 10 rounds.

If you are going hunting, leave the Saiga-12 and bring another shotgun.
CA limits shotguns to 3 rounds when hunting.
You can't legally use lead ammo in certain areas of CA, due to condors.
You also need to get a non-resident hunting license/tags.

I thought that when hunting migratory birds, it was a federal cap on 3 rounds in the weapon. Can someone check me on that? It this is true, that means he would need to find a 2rd magazine to be in compliance.

Gun Control is like treating the symptom, not the disease. Gun laws only restrict people who obey the law.

Being obviously informed of our less than hospitable gun laws why would you even consider moving from a free state to here? You're not one of them gun grabbing libs are you?
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

lol. Well NV is far from perfect.

I'm so sick of this place. I HATE TWEAKERS and the drug problem is getting worse! I miss the ocean, the redwoods, and San Francisco. I'm not a lib. I'm a constitutional conservative. And I came to NV because the company I work for moved here, but they might move back to CA. So I have to go where they go.

So only 3 rounds for hunting?

I've never actually been officially hunting. But we blast boar and other varmints out here on the ranch. if that counts.
So thanks for the info on the Saiga. They don't by chance make a umm 2 rounds mag do they? lol. Guess I'll get a Saiga and a rem 870.

I welcome a fellow gun owner and Constitutional conservative back to California!!

Yes, our uber liberal state can really suck at times, but there is sooo much that California has to offer that you just can't get anywhere else. That being said, having one more person of like-miond with us here in the PRK only help our cause and to solidify our resolve!!!

                Welcome back!

Boy you guys like to focus on one problem.

I WILL HAVE TO MOVE, if the company I work for does.
The tweakers are just one part of Reno I won't miss.

Trust me it's not nearly as bad in CA yet.
Sure there out there, but in Reno there everywhere.

I'm just so sick of the cheezey lights and casino BS of this town.
I miss the ocean and the redwoods.

Yea Reno does kinda suck.. Old dried up smokers and drug addicts. One thing I do like about Reno though is you can shoot nearly anywhere you want and own nearly any firearm you want. California is beautiful, I just hate the congested parts. I use to live in Willits and Laytonville and would move back if they had work and the gun laws weren't so nutty.

Jesus you guys tore this guy a new @$$hole.

Anyways, the Saiga DOES need to meet the AW ban category three requirements you listed. Basically that means you need a mag lock, and unless you remove the pistol grip it can't have a folding/collapsible stock. I recommend you buy one with a hard stock and install the mag lock--should be legal but someone with more knowledge can fact check better than I can.

You're best bet is to have a look at the CalGun's AW flowchart. It's all you need.

(btw, he can have a collapsible/folding stock with a pistol grip if the mag is locked and limited to ten rounds and the overall "collapsed/folded" length does not exceed 32".)

The CalGun's AW flowchart is just for centerfire rifles.
Or is there one for Shotguns as well?
