Would a cylinder bore, 26" 12-ga work for shooting trap? 1 oz loads. Need to test my cowboy shotgun.Comment

It will work. It's not the best choice, but if you shoot fast, you can hit them. Since you have a cylinder bore, you may miss some if you don't shoot fast. You could put the shot right at the bird, but with a cylinder you could get a hole out at 40 yards. You'd be shooting a donut at the bird.
You'll be in good shape for skeet though.Last edited by fecalguns; 03-13-2019, 8:39 PM.Comment

16yd Trap, yes. 27yd handicap Trap, no.
Most shotgun patterns have a slightly (at a minimum) hot core, if you center the shot the bird will break. With a centered shot a cylinder should be good out to 35 ~ 40 yards.
I've seen a 100yd crosser broken with a cylinder bore

That's news to me. Was it the golden BB?

Could very well have been. It was at Moore-N-Moore, the guy was surprised he hit it, then he realized he didn't even have a choke in his gun. Either way, it broke
PS: I hit it, but I had an IMOD in my gun, would have used a FULL but I didn't have one at the time."A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"Comment
