    question about barrell compatability

I have a remington 870 super magnum chambered for up to 3 1/2. Can I use a 3" chamber barrell? I'd like to get an 18" but havent been able to find one chambered in 3 1/2 only 3.

Thats not a problem. I just bought a grip of 2 3/4 00 buck. Not sure why I bought the super mag in the firstplace, I guess I was in the mindset Bigger is better. But I have never even shot 3 1/2 rounds anyway mostly all 2 3/4 and occasionally some 3" Looking at the 9.00 a box of 3 1/2 00 buck today makes me happy that I bought 2 3/4 00 for 3.95 a box. Thanks for the input.

You gotta tell me. Have you ever shot 3 1/2" slug out of your 870?

It must kick like a mule.

no, never have. I'll have to buy a box and give a review.

Don't waste your money on 3.5 inch shells. WAY over kill. They are really no fun to shoot.
