    New Streamlight for shotguns

    This looks cool

They made one for the 870 and 500/590.

Supposed to be pretty nice and cheaper then the Surefire version for sure

This looks pretty sweet, I always wanted a surefire forend on my 870 police magnum but if this one is a bit cheaper I might have to go with one of these instead

I wish they would leave that notch out... The Surefire version hurts like a mofo shooting anything with high brass, so much so that I sold all mine off.

I wonder if it suffers the same battery drain problems that the surfire does?

I have a Surefire for an 870 that's not being used. I'll sell it for a reasonable price.

                I like it.

When I read your post I thought they put fat white print on a black background - like with their other lights.

Instead they are using black (or dark grey) on black, far more appealing.

I generally like Streamlight products as being excellent value for their price point.

I think everything Surefire makes is way over priced, no doubt a byproduct of being a Preferred Govt Contractor. Their Suppressors are way over $1000 + and really aren't worth half that.

That said I don't particularly like this thing from Streamlight either.

I have Magpul Furniture on both of my M500's and a short piece of Pic Rail at the 6 O'Clock position in the front. I mount Streamlight TLR 1's to those guns as needed. It is on My HD gun full time. I like this setup much better as I can remove the light in a few seconds by simply unscrewing the pinch screw and don't have to contend with it being in the way.

Also the Magpul Furniture has the best ERGO's out there for a fighting shotgun.

                  Randy

I almost preordered one a while back, but then I had second thoughts when I realized that the batteries are in the grip, so your hand placement on the forend ends up being significantly lower than on a normal forend. Not sure how that will affect things, so I figured it would be best to wait until other people have bought and reviewed it first.

Like Randy, I prefer the magpul with a tlr-1. Although I mount my light on the left side of the forend as it seems to be more accessible by my thumb in that position.
