Just get an SKB golf club case. I bought one years ago. It does double duty, depending on whether I'm doing some shooting or doing some hitting.

And it is definitely low profile.

And don't tell me someone might steal the case thinking there are expensive golf clubs in there. The Tuffpak looks just like a travel golf club case.

Yep, a few guys I know use golf cases. The only down side is the size. They're big.

Reminder that due to CA unloaded open carry laws...

If the case is not designed for a firearm by the manufacturer of the case [PC 16505], then it needs to be locked. [PC 26405(c)]

So in order to be CA legal, while outside of a vehicle; while using golf club case or guitar case or some other non-firearm case, the case needs to be locked.

          Penal Code 16505
For purposes of Chapter 7 (commencing with Section 26400) of Division 5 of Title 4, a firearm is “encased” when that firearm is enclosed in a case that is expressly made for the purpose of containing a firearm and that is completely zipped, snapped, buckled, tied, or otherwise fastened with no part of that firearm exposed.

          Penal Code 26405
Section 26400 does not apply to, or affect, the carrying of an unloaded firearm that is not a handgun in any of the following circumstances:
          (c) When the firearm is either in a locked container or encased and it is being transported directly between places where a person is not prohibited from possessing that firearm and the course of travel shall include only those deviations between authorized locations as are reasonably necessary under the circumstances.

          Penal Code 26400
          (a) A person is guilty of carrying an unloaded firearm that is not a handgun when that person carries upon his or her person an unloaded firearm that is not a handgun outside a vehicle while in any of the following areas:
          (1) An incorporated city or city and county.
          (2) A public place or a public street in a prohibited area of an unincorporated area of a county.

Interesting. The tuffpak is designed as a gun case, so I'm good.

Cheaper to just buy a house at the destination.

Everybody in the hotel has their own guns. No need to conceal them. Out and about they're with you.

I travel to six or seven tournaments a year. I'm not in a position to buy six or seven more homes

Most travel golf cases are lockable.

Do you have to pay extra to fly with a golf case?

1st bag free on Alaska Airlines if you have their mileage program. They are usually soooo easy to deal with when it comes to guns; errrr firearms.
