    Streamlight TL Racker

Anybody have a chance to check out the Streamlight TL Racker flaslight for Mossberg 500/590 or Remington 870 @ SHOT SHOW?

I was in the process of buying a magpul forend with a streamlight protac rail mount 1 for it when i came across this.

I like the idea that it reduces the number of interfaces between the light and the forend. Also looks like it wouldnt snag around corners.

I found online for ~$127 for pre-orders, just curious how it fits in the hand and so forth.

Here is a youtube video about it:

Honestly after taking 3 different SG classes (2 days were low/no light) with a magpul forend with a inForce mounted light sucks! I used the instructors SG with surefire forend for a bit and it was so comfortable compared to my setup. When I got home after getting my butt kicked, I ordered the Surefire (similar to the one in your link).

With the Magpul w/ Inforce, operating the light when the switch is off the forend and mounted on the light is counterintuitive then having pressure switches on the forend where your thumb is always going to be.

I tried the light on all available locations, even went to the hassle of have pic rails at the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock locations that the MP forend allows. Still couldn't find an efficient location. Moved it fore and aft, nothing.

Having it mounted on the side where my thumb can rest on it (off the forend BTW) worked but after 6 hours of buck, slugs, buck to slug switches. My nail began to lift from my finger do to all the recoil. It sucked.

Go the route like your link and leave external mounted lights for the AR's. Thats where mine went.

thank you for your input! i am taking my first SG class tonight so I'm guessing i might learn similar things.

at this point, the idea and pricepoint of the streamlight product is sounding great - i just have reservations on pre-ordering or being part of the first wave before others have had time testing and reviewing.

On the other hand, i have heard great things about their customer service so maybe it is worth the dive. thanks!
