Looking into getting my first (personal) shotgun soon. Not looking to shoot skeet. More of a woods and home defense gun. Any reason I should not go rifled barrel over smooth? Will be using slugs and 00. Maybe cheap bird shot for range time. Is there any issues with a rifled barrel I should know about? also, Can you fire cut shells through a rifled barrel?

A rifled barrel is for slugs. Regular shells shot out of it will be more of a lead spray than a pattern.Originally posted by NOMADCHRIS -
A rifled barrel for any kind of shot will be useless past a few feet. Rifled is for slugs only.Comment
