    Federal LE132-00

    Hello,

Is this ammo sold to individuals? And if so, any ideas where to get it? Any help appreciated.

    Thanks,

I've purchased it from here in the past, but they show out of stock at the moment:

Likewise, Ammoman usually sells it, but is out of stock.

There are people selling it on Gunbroker, but the prices are a little crazy, like so much other ammo.

Bumping an old thread...but I'm looking for some as well. Seems impossible to find currently. I picked some up from AmmoToGo a little while back and had no idea what a great round it was...now I can't seem to find any.

I'd be interested in finding the same shell possibly in #4 buck as well...LE-132-4B. I guess some Winchester will have to suffice for now if it's a similar round.

Edit: I know there are a few people selling them online (like at Gunbroker and what not) but some of the prices they are asking are just whacky...I'm never one to junk on someone's FS thread but I can't stand some of the gougers right now so I won't support it; just not the way I think business should be run.

I ordered the Federal LE132-00 last week from

FFL Transfer | TDS is your online source for high quality ammunition. We stock only the best quality ammo at reasonable prices. Our reputation since 2000 speaks for itself. If your looking for the best, look no further.

You can only purchase 5 boxes per order, I'm going to order another 5 boxes today before they're all gone.

I thought that was pretty neat too...the shipping kind of brings it down though since you can only order five boxes and shipping is usually always around the same price bracket...but hey, it's somewhere to find it.

Several vendors had it for sale at the Costa Mesa Gunshow including Miwall. I picked up a 10 box pack of slugs for $35. They also had the 9 00 Buckshot for the same price.

I also found them at TDS. Agree, the shipping, in my case $15.16 for 5 boxes of 5 makes each round a bit over $1.70 each. Placed 2 orders of 5 boxes.

Let's just say I will not be using these a lot on the 40 yard tin can range. I'll save them for HD after trying 5 or 10 rounds at the range.

I ordered a couple of sleeves way back when and half were with the new flight control wad which groups tighter over distance. Either one works well, but If you can find some Winchester Ranger buffered reduced recoil, I wouldn't hesitate to get that.

The winchester hull design is stiffer and won't bulge like the federal ammo if you leave your SG loaded for a couple of years. I left the Ranger loaded for 18 months with no issue like the federal hulls.

Yeah, seriously. I took some out to the range the other weekend to see how my various HD rounds patterned...I was kind of sad that I ended up using a good portion of the Federal's, makes me wish I ordered more of them rather than the Nobelsport #4 buck I got more of back when I placed the order for everything. The prices were decent too, IIRC. Oh well.

I saw some pictures of the pattern of the old Federal buck rounds without the Flight-Control wad...it was still pretty tight at distance, IMO. The FCW stuff is just nuts...I bet people in the lanes around me at the range thought I was shooting slugs. Winchester is another option I've considered...I'd like to get my hands on some and take it to the range to test.

Interesting about the hulls...I think I'd take those rounds to the range to "cycle" them all out of the box after a couple months anyway; just to keep fresh ammo in there as often as possible since I load and unload the gun somewhat often. That's pretty cool though, 18 months is a long time...

Thought to add some print pattern photos from a Mossberg 590A-1 with the Vang Comp System. It appears that the LE132 00 gives the best pattern at 25 yards, although the LE133 00 and the F127 00 do quite well, albeit with the VCS.

Is this the same load that MidWay is selling, labeled as PD132-00?

Making guns illegal is as stupid as making drugs or prostitution illegal.

Best 00 buck out there IMHO.
