    Pump Saiga 12

Does anyone know if the Saiga 12 can have it's gas system disabled making it pump action like some guys are doing with AKs?

I think that it would operate more like a straight-pull bolt action rather than a pump gun. Would that allow the use of detachable mags in a shotgun platform?

ETA: This looks like 18" right?

That's what I was thinking, since it would require you to pull the bolt back for each shot similar to having to pump for each shot it should be legal. Anybody else know?

Oooh, that one is evil looking, I personally would like this one though.

Effective January 1, 2000, the definition of "assault weapon" also includes any of the following:

          (6) A semiautomatic shotgun that has both of the following: (A) A folding or telescoping stock. (B) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, thumbhole stock, or vertical handgrip. (7) A semiautomatic shotgun that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine. (8) Any shotgun with a revolving cylinder.

I think we are good to go on a gas-disabled straight-pull bolt action Saiga 12....

A pump action (non semiauto) can have basically anything you want (must be 26" and have an 18" barrel.) The Saiga would be legal if it was not semiauto.
            Please, calm down.

The Saiga is much sexier than the Valtro, and easier to find as well.

Anyone know how much a 10-round magazine costs for the Saiga? It would make reloading much faster and easier than the tube magazine on a 870.
