    Vang Comp Barrel question

Anyone have the inside bore diameter at the muzzle on a Vang Comp barrel ?

Anyone know if the bore diameters are different on makes of barrels...or different at all ?

The majority of cylinder bore barrels measure .732-.735

The Vang Comp Process lengthens the Forcing Cone from about 1/2" to 3". Then the barrel is Back Bored" to .745 from the chamber end
forward. However the reamer's front end has a taper on it so the last two inches of the barrel are choked back down to original bore diameter. Then there are 31ea. 1/16" holes drilled on either side of the front sight to act as Porting to lessen muzzle rise.

This process works and the difference in how the gun shoots is literally night and day. It took my M500 Tactical Gun from a brutal instrument of self destruction to a pleasant to shoot gun I have no problems putting 500 rounds thru in 4 days.

You get strait line recoil which keeps your cheek weld on the gun and the recoil impulse goes from a hard hit to a smooth push.

This all contributes to greatly reduced perceived recoil.

Well worth the cost. IMHO. Other's may Poo-poo it,,, however after they shoot one they change their tune quickly.

Hello, Vang Comp Systems barrel mod is a extension of the forcing cone and back boring of the barrel, ports are optional. Their barrel work isn't limited to Remington 870, they can do almost any guns that have enough meat in the barrels for the process.

I believe if you go to their FAQs page, they answer everything you may be wondering. I remember reading that you gun has to be 1962 and older as barrel walls were thinner back in the day. Before they do anything they take calipers to make sure wall thickness is correct before they proceed.

Here is my Vang Comp Systems baby. She was totally worth every penny, I highly recommend it...
