    Remington V3

Thinking about a new shotgun. I know the A300 is a great gun for the money. Anyone here have a Remington V3? I know Remington has financial problems, but I want to know about the gun.
    Thanks in advance.

I purchased 2 of them last year when Turners had sale and Remington offered rebate. They both have had a few hundred rounds of dove loads with no problems.

I like them better than the A300 because they fit me better. They are VERY soft shooting if they fit you. One area they are lacking in is no shim system.

I have shot and enjoyed mine reliably. Very light, well balanced and the recoil is super light.

Don't know about the A300 and the V3, but I have seen an instance where a Beretta A400 wouldn't cycle loads that a Remington VersaMax would.

My buddy has one and likes it. Remingtons don't fit me well, but the guy seems reliable and nice shooting when I tried it out.

I do not have one but looked very heavily in purchasing one. The information I got was that they work just fine and perform great. They do, however, suffer from the lack of fit, finish, and attention to detail inherent to other Remington products in the current era. I ended up going Beretta and have zero regrets. I have purchased three Remington firearms over the years and no longer own any of them. I would opt for something else.

I've handled several quite extensively at Sportsman's Warehouse several weeks ago. I've never fired one as I don't own one. When I was examining it, I found the V3 to be light, easy to swing and point, comparable to the Winchester SX3s.

They are lighter and more dynamic handling compared to the Versamax and the JM Pro that I also handled. As to fit and finish, the specimen I was handling seems at far with that of the more expensive Versamax but below the Winchester SX3. The V3 is tighter and has a better finish than the JM Pro.

Handling and ergonomics of the V3 seems equal to the Weatherby SA-08 but the fit and finish of the SA-08 is better than the V3, the Versamax, and the JM Pros.

There was NO Beretta A300 at the store so I have no opinion on the A300 except a feedback from a friend who owns one. He likes his so much, and has been encouraging me to get the A300. He also owns the JM Pro with 22 inch barrel and a Mossberg 500 with 28 inch barrel. He prefers the A300 over those two shotguns.

Randy Wakeman at Shotgun Forum likes the V3 over the A300 and he has some explanation as to why.

I've been reading a lot about the V3 since last year and from other people's feedback.....the synthetic models are more prone to " blow back ".... whatever the hell that means. Not so much on the walnut stocked ones. I am interested in the V3 but my gripe is the price and capacity. I like the simplicity of its design and relative ease of taking it apart for maintenance. There is no buffer tube in the butt to complicate things.

Also, I have not read much article using it for tactical or HD use, more for dove hunting and the like, which I am not interested in.

I've owned one for two Dove, Duck & Goose seasons. This will be it's 3rd season. It's ran 100% on target loads. I had 3 malfunctions with 3" Steel Duck loads the first year, second year, it ran 100% on 3" steel.

Probably 600 rds. of target loads and 300 + 3" Steel loads.

It's been a good Shotgun. I shoot it well, I've taken a lot of Birds with it.

                    No regrets on the purchase.
