Redlands shotgun range

Anyone here go to the shotgun range in Redlands?
I just got a Maverick combo 12 gauge and thought it might be fun to try a round of trap shooting.
The Redlands Range isn't too far, I used to go to the Inland rifle range until they were forced to close.

Anyway I thought I would ask!

Just make sure you use the barrel that is 26 inches or longer.

Speed has to be below 1150 FPS, they don't want Their Screens Tore up.. Take a Shell into the Office with you , cause you have to prove it.

Went 2 weeks ago to get ready for dove opener. Place is good to go, they have lights for night shooting at skeet and trap. Sporting clays was fun too but no lights out there. Be sure your ammo is rated under their limit, I remember using 1200fps and they said it was ok.

Be prepared to be humbled on the skeet range, good practice though.

If they don't know you, your ammo will need to be in the original box for inspection or you will need to buy ammo there. Prices are fair. About 4 years ago, they installed screens to keep shot on the property, and heavy loads will tear it up.

It's a nice, clean range. You might want to avoid the busy hours if you don't want pressure behind you.

Maximum Velocity: 1250FPS (Feet Per Second) 1 1/8oz of shot MAX
7 1/2, 8 & 9 shot only
All ammo must be checked by staff member in the club house prior to shooting

Ah, that is more like it. The 3 DRAM rules is very common, in Bay Area ranges it is mostly for noise concerns.

I have competed there in ATA and club trap competitions and did some work for their long retired gunsmith Dockweiler. Good people, good location, but their pricing is a little higher than Prado. Give them a try.

Last time I went they had reduced costs on Fridays for trap. May want to check their web site to see if they still do that. I enjoyed Fridays as I could get a lot of shooting completed in a short period of time. And I need all the practice I can get.

It is 1250 fps, I was out there today. They turned away a female shooter because she had 1300 shells. She looked like a competitor and said she usually uses 1500.

Also, no steel shot.
