Can I purchase a tube extension and just own it without putting it on and still be legal ? Turkish semi auto so i'd have to change out too many parts but i'd like to have it for when I go out of state. TIA

...to my knowledge, there's never been 922(r) charges directed toward an individual user. BATFE letter indicating the above is on the FAL Files.

Thanks , I pretty much understand it as being can't add one but I want one for when we go to NV. Just need to know if it was able to be owned. I have pistol grip so was thinking it has to be 5+1 only ?

yeah I understood that was just wondering could I own it legally if it isn't installed here in Cali. Put it on there , take it off here and store. I get leery about some of these stupid arse laws , clowns may say ownership is illegal or something.

CA large capacity magazine laws makes it CA illegal (felony) to increase the magazine capacity of a fixed tubular magazine, on a semi-auto shotgun or pump-action shotgun, to over 10 rounds. [PC 32310(a)]

CA large capacity magazine conversion kit laws makes it CA illegal (misdemeanor) to make, import, or transfer magazine parts that could be used to increase the magazine capacity of a fixed tubular magazine, on a semi-auto shotgun or pump-action shotgun, to over 10 rounds. [PC 32311(a)]

Which means as long as you are not increasing the magazine capacity to 11+ rounds, then it is CA legal to do so.

CA DOJ measures magazine capacity on a fixed tubular magazine by using the shell length marked by the manufacturer.
Example...
The Stoeger M3500 semi-auto shotgun is marked for 12Gauge 3.5" shells, so 3.5" shells are used to determine that shotgun's magazine capacity.


Lever-action shotguns with fixed tubular magazines are exempt from the CA large capacity magazine laws. [PC 16740(c)]
