Mossy 500 front bead thread size?

Guys, wondering if you can help me out, I'm looking to replace the front bead on my Mossberg 500 with a Tru Glo Fat Bead, places that sell them, sell them by the thread size. No idea what my 500 bead thread size is. Anyone know? Thanks in advance.

    5-40 Thread
I just got that sight and they are much better than the regular bead.
To take off the old one, use a vice grip to to remove it. It will damage the old bead sight though.

No need to use a vice grip a small crescent wrench works fine.

True, but I had a vice grip on hand it it worked better than the alternative, which was a pier of needle nose pliers.

Bassxhead: I really like it. I got the red one since it was the only one they had in stock, but it is way more noticeable for me than a old bead sight.

Yeah its for my 500 Persuader. I shouldered another 12ga at J&R with the fiber optic sights, and its 100x's better for sight acquisition, your eye instantly goes right to it. I got it from Buds Gun Shop, www.budsgunshop.com for $18 shipped. $9 for the sight, and $9 for shipping.

I went with the red Fat Bead. To me and many others, red means danger, stop, destruction, or something bad is about to happen, lol.

I have heard that red, green are good - NOT WHITE in case of snow or bright sky.
