      Boom Sticks are Fun....

But self defense has little to do with the gear... much more skill and mindset

The M4 really replaced the shotgun in many peoples homes are the go to Self Defense tool
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
      (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

My buddy is a big Benelli fan and is looking for an o/u.
I've been searching for info about them but not many people shoot them.

I only own like 10, or so..... And I hunt with them like 30-40 times a year... So, "love" is a bit of an understament.

Stoeger SxS 12 ga shotgun. It's my go to for home defense. I love tearing up targets with it at the range.

I love it. I only wish they made one with a 30 inch barrel. Although that is probably coming soon.

does the light weight bother you shooting 100+ shells on clays?

Not at all. I got tired at the Bonanza last month, but no soreness afterwards. I was shooting Fiocchi 7 1/2 shot 1200fps.

i love the shotgun but one needs to train on it to understand the different ammo.

also, the ammo is heavy, really heavy...

Box of 25 round of buck shot is wayyyyy heavier and cumbersome than a 30 round mag of 223/556 or 7.62x39...

However, I will say everyone should have a shotgun in their arsenal

                        Love all teh gauges!
I’ve had more silly fun with a Pardner .410 and my Mossberg .410 bolt gun than could be expected. And who doesn’t smile when racking a fresh round into a chamber?
