            Great advice, thanks everyone!

Whutsup40 - thanks for the invite. That sounds like fun, I’ll send you a message when I can attend. $41 for that kind of fun sounds like a deal!

I thought I would give it a try 5 years ago and now have 3 trap guns and shoot competitions. Love it. Have fun.

I read that in the clinic they ask which eye is dominant. I am right handed and left eye dominant. Will that be an issue? I imagine so. Last weekend I was using both eyes to spot the clay, and then closing my left so that my right eye would be the one looking along the barrel to the clay.

No that will not be an issue. I assure you, you will not be the first student that shoots right and is left eye dominant that has or will attend the Clinics ...I'm sure the instructors have run across a few already

Get out there, learn, have a ton of fun

I've been to many of the clinics, going again in a couple weeks. I am a right handed shooter, left eye dominant, I use an occluder as my solution.

                      Have a look at this.

                        ><

Repeating a post as it applies to this tread also:

There are a lot of questions that need to be answered before a solution can be put into action. Even after the questions are answered, an on-line solution is impossible. What you get on-line is an opinion at best based on who knows what.

Seek out an instructor at one of the ranges you shoot at and discuss your problem with them....they would be the best person that can help you since they have you there in person and can do an assessment on weather they can help or send you to another instructor that can.

Good advice everyone, thank you. I’ll go to the shooting clinic and see what they tell me.

I only mentioned the occluder to show the OP there are possible solutions to his issue. Another possible solution, learn to shoot left handed. Another is to shoot with the off eye closed.
No one solution is good for everyone, but there is always a solution that will work for an individual shooter.

OP, sign up for a clinic, you will learn a lot and have a lot of fun too.
