"As to the species of exercise, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun, therefore, be the constant companion to your walks." -- Thomas Jefferson

i think shotshell and wad choice would effect it more than a damaged crown on a smoothbore shotgun barrel. My uncles first 870.. he hacked the barrel to 19" with a hacksaw and filed it down and touched it up with a sharpie. It was still accurate meaning the mass of the shot were still on target and not forced one way or the other.. shoot it and see how you like it. if it is shooting off center, contact the ffl or Remington.

I'd be concerned if it was a rifle, but being a shotgun and using mainly buckshot for HD, I wouldn't even worry about it. I would take down that edge that sticks into the barrel a bit, but thats just me.

As others have mentioned, it shouldn't be an issue for your intended purpose and loads. You could clean it up a bit by hand and use some touch up blue if you feel the need, otherwise leaving it the way it is should be fine.
