    870 furniture question

I picked up an old school looking wood furniture set from another calgunner. It will not fit my 870 express. Any ideas as to what this fits?

870 express handguard is the lighter one. The newly purchased one is the darker one.

The smaller one must logically fit a Mossberg or perhaps Winchester if it doesn't go on an 870. It does not appear to be Ithaca and I know of no other such shotgun that would use similar furniture. The larger one looks like what is commonly found on 870 Expresses but I can't say for sure. IIRC Remington wood has a split down the middle where it rides under the barrel.

There is only one 870 and they differ only by finish and quality of furniture. If the set you bought does not fit your 870 then it is not an 870 stock set.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

            ><

Your new forearm looks like the old "corn cob" type .....I have an 1959 Wingmaster with one . Compare the inside of each rather rather then the outside.

As Appi said if its an 870 part, it fits on all 870's (of the same gauge)

16 ga forearm on a 12 ga would be my educated guess, but that doesn't look like an 870 forearm to me.
