I would not be surprised (from the pics) if the OP finds the shortening of the shell to be from the hull being pushed into the base.

Still, shells compressed in a mag tube for almost a year without being moved? That is asking quite a bit.
I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't "tent" if left in a box or out in the open

Winchester Super X and Universal hull have uber thin walls and do not hold a crimp very well under pressure. Try Remington Gun Clubs. They're almost as cheap but the walls are thicker and they tend to hold a crimp better.

I've bought Super X target loads that had this issue out of the box. They wouldn't cycle in my wife's semi auto and I could just barely jam them into my break action.

For a defensive load, I wouldn't trust my life to Super X.

I've had the same intermittent issue in a bird gun with Winchester AA loads straight out of the box. Upon inspection, it was indeed a manufacturing and quality issue.

I don't buy those shells anymore. So much for AA being great.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I located the rest of the ammo I bought at that time and there were some other shells like that in the box. Some look like I may have rotated them out, but others did not (memory not what it used to be). Either way, it sounds like this Winchester ammo is cheaply constructed and doesn't have a long shelf life. Going to go shopping for some better rounds this week. I know I've kept shells in the tube longer than that before, but lesson learned to check/rotate them more frequently as well.

Also attaching a picture of what these shells look like brand new for reader comparison.

"But mainly democrat voters would still vote Democrat if they elected Satan himself who ate babies as they came out of mother's wombs and killed people in the street.
