SX3 AND V3 Mag Extension?

Hello, Shotgun Afficionados,

First off, Happy New Year to all!

RE: The Winchester SX3 and Remington V3 Shotguns

These two semi-auto shotguns are in my radar screen. In stock form though, they carry 3 to 4 shells only. I have not seen much on you tube, projects that increase that capacity with aftermarket extension tubes.

Have you done, or come across someone who has done this? I know there are plenty of aftermarket extension tubes for the Mossbergs and the Remington 870, 1100, etc.

Briley makes an extension for the Winchester SX3. The Remington V3 can use the Remington 1100 mag extension, but it is not an exact fit and its possible a shell can caught inside the extension area. Someone in shotgunworld.com attempt to extend the mag tube on the V3, but I haven't seen any further posts about it.

I used the nordic on my sx3 and it works just fine

Now, I'm tempted to extended my mag tube on the V3.............

I found the old thread I read about the V3 using the Remington 1100 mag extension. Looks like it works, but you have to remove the black plastic cap in front of the V3 mag tube. Don't forget to get a barrel and mag clamp to stop the Nordic component cap from coming loose. My Mossberg 930 JM Pro has a tendency to loosen the Nordic components extension cap, but the barrel clamp/mag tube stops it from unscrewing.

I use a SX3 for water fowl, the best extension I've seen for the gun it's probably the set up my brother uses and I'm going to follow.
Winchester for the birds
Mossberg 930 JK Pro for everything else.

All joking aside the Winchester balances so well I wouldn't want to mess up the swing by throwing more weight on up front.
